My name is Dave McIsaac. I was a performing and studio musician for many years and have opened up my own studio. I want to share my years of experience with you.
Change is good. At least that's what I've always been told. But change doesn't come easy. It's taken a lot of time and effort for me to switch from musician to engineer. Sure, I've run sound from the stage while playing in bands, and have worked in numerous studios as a session player, and have even been involved in the mixing process on many projects. But it's a whole different story now that I'm on the other side of the studio console.
The good news for you is that I am able to approach this whole thing from the musician's stand point. I have musician's ears and a musician's sense of what a great mix not only should sound like but what a great mix should FEEL like. It's a whole lot more than numbers and meters for me!
