So, why pick me?
I did like you are doing. I did the research and found I could pay as little as $17.50/song or as much as $500.00/hour to get my material mastered. I certainly couldn't afford $500.00/hour and sure wouldn't expect much from someone willing to do it for $17.50/song - I'm sure they'd just run it through a limiter, crank up the level & call it good (If that's all you need, I can do it for about $15.00/song!). There's got to be a happy medium! And that's why me.
I started experimenting. I got all the meters and started taking my favorite CD's apart, song by song. I discovered there's no magic formula. Every song has it's own set of numbers. But there are some basic similarities. So I began trying different EQ's, compressors, limiters, expanders, tube emulators, anything I could get my hands on trying to re-create what the $500.00/hour mastering engineers were doing on the pro CD's. It's taken 3 years of spending every free moment I've had to come up with something that works. And I have!
